We are pleased to be involved in the first Living History Camp set for the Summer of 2013. The theme will be "The Underground Railroad Still Runs".
It will be a week long camp that explores the roots of slavery in the 14th and 15th Centuries in the New World. We will look at the attempt by secular and religious communities to overthrow it as a viable economic model upon the fledgling colonies and finally how it split a young nation.
Additionally we will look at concerns with modern slavery alive throughout the world today. Finally we look at the desire for every human being to experience inner freedom.
Students and adults alike will benefit from time spent together reliving history. Reenactments will include a water passage, a slave market, escape along the same routes to the North, sleeping out in the open and in church cellars.
